Anatomy of a bid
June 10, 2026
Bids on TalentBid that get accepted have three things in common.
First: a specific role title, not 'engineer.' 'Staff ML engineer, ranking systems' beats 'Senior engineer' by ~2× acceptance.
Second: comp that beats the builder's current TC by at least 15%. Below that, the inertia of a known job wins.
Third: one paragraph in the message that names something the builder shipped. 'Saw your rec system at Foo — we're rebuilding ours from scratch and want you to lead it.' That's the unlock.
